As a member of the dynamic CELT leadership team, the Instructional Consultant needs to be an innovative leader with a demonstrated ability to support faculty development efforts through direct consultation to re-imagine instructional practices, create instructional materials, and coordinate events and programs. The responsibilities of this position include a focus on course enhancement and development.

CELT is located within the Division of Academic Affairs at Keene State College. This position reports to the Executive Director of CELT and as a member of the CELT team the Instructional Consultant will collaborate with the other CELT staff including Academic Technology and Experiential Education. The position requires a highly organized, nimble individual with excellent written and oral communication skills, experience in instructional design, strong follow-through, initiative, and willingness to work in a team in a flexible work environment.

Responsibilities include:
Work with faculty (one-on-one, in small groups, etc.) in the development/revision, implementation, and evaluation of courses using best practices and emerging technologies to improve the quality and effectiveness of a learner-centered environment.
Consult with individual faculty on teaching and learning strategies on a confidential basis.
Support academic departments and programs in the exploration and development of innovative teaching and learning strategies (including face-to-face, on-line and blended) and materials. Responsibilities will include management of projects and development of support materials.
Develop and facilitate professional development activities for faculty and help to develop communities of practice around current and emerging pedagogical strategies, individually and in conjunction with CELT team members.
Assist with identifying and producing resources to support faculty by designing and delivering workshops and online training resources and assisting with continual improvement.
Research new pedagogical practices and tools; share findings with interested parties including CELT team members and faculty.
Regularly contribute to CELT’s online presence and publications through blog posts and other uses of social media to share innovations in teaching and learning.
Assist with evaluation and assessment of activities and events.
Assess program services and established outcomes.
Present on work and/or research findings on campus and at local and national meetings.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree and four years of related professional experience or Master’s degree and two years of related professional experience; demonstrated success consulting with faculty to improve the quality and effectiveness of a learner centered environment; experience assisting faculty in the development and evaluation of curricular objectives; familiarity with current learning management systems.

Additional Desirable Qualifications: Undergraduate teaching experience, experience using the ADDIE principle of instructional design, experience with universal design principles and/or assistive technology, experience. Salary is commensurate with education and experience complemented by a generous benefits package. There is the potential to teach pending course availability and qualification match.
